About the Conference

The Federation of Medical Women of Canada (FMWC) invites you to the 2026 Annual General Meeting and Educational Conference, taking place September 18–19, 2026, in Edmonton, Alberta at the Westin Edmonton Downtown.

This year’s meeting holds special significance as it will also serve as the North American Regional Meeting of the Medical Women’s International Association (MWIA)—bringing together a dynamic community of physician leaders from across Canada, the United States, and beyond. This dual designation creates a uniquely visible and influential forum for advancing the role of women physicians in shaping the future of healthcare.

Women physicians lead at the intersection of multiple identities—clinicians, educators, researchers, advocates, innovators, and system leaders. This year’s theme recognizes the complexity and strength of these intersecting roles, and the impact they have on healthcare delivery, policy, and culture. Through engaging sessions and meaningful dialogue, the conference will explore the challenges and opportunities shaping modern medical practice—while creating space for connection, reflection, and forward-thinking collaboration.
