GI for GPs is Alberta’s long-running gastroenterology course designed specifically for family physicians. For over 20 years, gastroenterologists from the University of Alberta and Edmonton-based sites have delivered practical, evidence-based teaching to help you confidently assess, manage, and triage common GI concerns in primary care.
In 2026, the course continues this tradition with updates on current gastroenterology best practices - plus hands-on strategies you can apply immediately in clinic. Small-group workshops remain the backbone of the program, offering case-based learning, practical decision-making frameworks, and opportunities to ask questions and learn directly from specialist faculty.
