By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

• Identify how to respond to common gastroenterological concerns frequently seen in primary care
• Provide a summary of recent developments in gastroenterology and articulate how those updates in diagnosis and treatment affect clinical practice in the primary care setting 
• Gain confidence in knowing when common gastrointestinal symptoms and conditions can be cared for by family physicians and which concerns should be referred to a specialist 
• Examine case studies dealing with common GI issues and provide a suggested course of practice based on the information provided in Course sessions 
• Network and interact with colleagues and experts in the field in order to discuss common and often complex gastroenterological problem
