Mark Heller is a national subject matter expert in environmental hygiene and healthcare support services. With an unprecedented career leading Environmental Services across more than 650 healthcare facilities in Canada, Mark has shaped best practices in healthcare cleaning and disinfection for over two decades.

As the founding executive leader of Alberta Health Services' Environmental and Patient Transport Services—the largest publicly operated program in Canada—Mark set new standards for operational excellence in healthcare support services.

Today, he serves as President of Hygiene Performance Solutions, partnering with healthcare and IPAC leaders nationwide to drive measurable, sustained improvements in environmental infection prevention and control.

Mark’s leadership is recognized nationally. In 2023, the Government of Ontario appointed him to the Board of the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario, where he serves on the executive committee. In 2024, he was named Chair of the CSA Z316.16 Technical Subcommittee on Cleaning and Disinfection of Health Care Facilities.

Mark holds an MBA from Queen’s University, a Hotel and Resort Management diploma from Centennial College, and advanced studies in Project Management at York University
