From Roots to Screws: Understanding Positive Displacement Compressors

Explore the fundamentals of positive displacement compression technology, including API 619 rotary lobe blowers, oil-free and oil-flooded screw compressors. This session covers the evolution of positive displacement compressors, compares them with dynamic compressors, and highlights key considerations for package design and technology selection. Attendees will gain practical insights into choosing the right compression solution for industrial applications.

Tim Grady joined AERZEN in 2012, currently leads the USA based Applications Engineering Team, and has worked out of Coatesville, PA, Atlanta, GA, and now Benicia, CA. AERZEN specializes in the design, engineering, and production of rotary lobe blowers and screw compressors (oil-free and oil-flooded) for air and gas service. Tim is currently a member of the API 619 6th edition task force and has been involved in every sub-group including the rotary lobe blowers sub-group. Prior to AERZEN, he spent a decade at Baker Hughes INTEQ in a variety of roles and locations.
