Dr. Caroline Gérin-Lajoie is a bilingual psychiatrist and associate professor at the University of Ottawa, Faculty of Medicine.

For over two decades, she has worked at The Ottawa Hospital in various leadership, teaching and clinical roles, including as the first Medical Lead of the Psychosocial Oncology Program and the first Medical Director of Physician Health and Wellness at The Ottawa Hospital (2014-2020). During that same period, she also served as the Director of the Faculty Wellness Program at Ottawa’s Faculty of Medicine (2014-2018).

In 2019, Dr. Gérin-Lajoie joined the Canadian Medical Association as the first Executive Vice-President of Physician Wellness and Medical Culture.

In her personal life, Dr. Gérin-Lajoie has a total of 5 children and a one year-old grand-daughter. Her favorite hobbies include spending family time at the cottage with her husband and singing with a choir of female physicians in Ottawa.
