Navigating the unprecedented challenges of the pandemic, she was part of the team strategizing and implementing IP&C strategies in the personal care homes in Winnipeg. She has been part of the development of the new Infection Control Support Associate role in personal care homes in Winnipeg since the pandemic. She is board certified in infection control. She is actively involved in her local IPAC chapter, and was recently a member of the IPAC review committee for the revised national surveillance definitions for infections in Canadian long-term care homes. Her interests include navigating IP&C issues in special needs populations, construction in long-term care facilities, and bridging infection prevention best practices between acute and long-term care environments. When she is not at work, Dana enjoys quilting and spending time with her husband and four kids.
