Frank Baio is a dedicated Infection Preventionist and the Director of Infection Prevention at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and Children’s Hospital of New Jersey. Holding a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and board certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC). Frank has a strong clinical foundation for his leadership role. He began his healthcare career as a telemetry and stroke nurse, transitioned into a stroke coordinator role, where he developed a deep understanding of patient care and safety. His commitment to improving outcomes led him to pursue leadership as a nursing manager before transitioning into the field of infection prevention in 2019. During the Covid-19 pandemic, Frank played a pivotal role in guiding his team and implementing strategies to keep both patients and staff safe in one of the nation’s most heavily burdened regions. His passion for reducing patient harm drives his ongoing efforts to lower the incidence of hospital-acquired infections and promote a culture of safety throughout the organization.
