Cailin Banks, RN, BScN, MScN, CIC is an experienced Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) practitioner with more than 15 years of progressive leadership across acute care, academic, and system-level healthcare settings. She currently serves as the sole Infection Control Practitioner, and Wound Care Resource, at Stevenson Memorial Hospital, a rural community hospital, where she leads surveillance, outbreak management, policy development, and patient and staff education, while providing organization-wide support in the assessment and management of acute and chronic wounds. Previously, Cailin held IPAC roles at the University Health Network and William Osler Health System. Her background also includes advanced practice nurse education, curriculum development, and clinical instruction, reflecting a strong commitment to translating evidence into practice. Cailin is the current Chair of the IPAC Canada Environmental Hygiene Interest Group and a longstanding member of IPAC Canada. She brings a practical, systems-focused perspective to infection prevention, grounded in collaboration, education, and compassionate leadership.
