Description

A practical one day workshop on applying CA methods to study practical problems in healthcare interaction focussing on the theme of medicines optimisation. Medicines optimisation is about ensuring the safe and effective use of medicines by patients to enable the best possible outcomes. Planned activities/elements will be structured ‘data deep dives’ to characterise key activities involved in medicines optimisation such as assessing medicines adherence; identifying possible adverse drug reactions; and making recommendations for medicines changes. Participants will have the opportunity to develop/refine their skills in making and working with collections of healthcare interactions data and to consider the challenges faced when the analyst is guided by ‘professional’ problems or concerns. We will provide the data which will be primary care interactions in British and American English. All are welcome and no preparatory work will be necessary.
