Eric Thorin is scientist (since 1996) at the Montreal Heart Institute and full professor at the University of Montreal. His interests are in the study of the impact of ageing on the vascular endothelium and on cerebrovascular dysfunctions. He obtained his PhD in pharmacology in France in 1991 before moving for postdoctoral training to the University of Glasgow (Scotland, 1992/1993) and the University of Vermont (USA, 1994/1995). Eric Thorin has also experience in drug development as past head of cardiovascular pharmacology at Actelion Pharmaceuticals (Switzerland, 2001/2002).
