Dr. Mariane Bertagnolli, PT, PhD is an Assistant Professor in the School of Physical and Occupational Therapy at McGill University, Scientist and co-Leader of the Cardiovascular Health Across the Lifespan (CHAL) Program, Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre. Her research focuses on the cardiovascular consequences of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, particularly preeclampsia, and the developmental origins of cardiovascular disease. Using translational approaches that integrate experimental models and clinical research, her work investigates mechanisms of placental and vascular dysfunction, angiogenesis, and strategies to improve maternal and offspring cardiovascular health. Dr. Bertagnolli completed her training in physiotherapy and physiology in Brazil, followed by postdoctoral fellowships at Université de Montréal and the University of Oxford. Her research has contributed to advancing knowledge on hypertension, preterm birth, vascular health, and exercise-based rehabilitation interventions. She is committed to translating scientific discoveries into innovative approaches that improve cardiovascular health across the lifespan, with a particular focus on women’s health and prevention of future cardiovascular disease.
