Dr. Stephen Glazer is a board-certified specialist in Internal Medicine, Intensive Care, Sleep Medicine and Bariatric Medicine with certification with the American Board of Obesity Medicine, with additional expertise in cardiology, diabetes, and pre-operative risk assessment. He has served as Medical Director of Humber River Health’s Bariatric Program since 2010, where he helped build both surgical and medical treatment pathways for patients living with obesity. A recognized leader in bariatric medicine, Dr. Glazer has numerous publications in Obesity including being the lead author of the preoperative chapter of the Canadian Adult Obesity Clinical Practice Guidelines. He is the immediate past president of the Canadian Association of Bariatric Physicians and Surgeons (CABPS) and is a strong advocate for recognizing obesity as a chronic disease and improving access to care for patients across Canada.
