Dr. Ames received a dental degree from Dalhousie University, Nova Scotia in 1985. Dr. Ames operated a private general practice dental clinic in Fredericton, New Brunswick for 18 years and was active member of the New Brunswick Dental Society serving on various committees for 10 years. Dr. Ames then practiced in Ottawa and worked as an advisor to the federal governments Non-Insured Health Benefits Dental Program and to the Chief Dental Officer for Canada. In 2012 Dr. Ames joined the College of Dental Surgeons of Alberta as Director of Regulatory Compliance.
